The Doorways of Antigua
 
Antigur, Guatemala is one of those wonderful places in the world that everyone should see.  The former capital of the Spanish colony of Guatemala, it faded into obscurity after a series of earthquakes and volcanic eruptions in the eighteenth century.  Now preserved and a UNESCO world heritage site, it is known for its ambiance, architecture and wonderful small hotels.  Here are a few random shots of Spanish colonial doorways that I took in August 2011.
